Chopped Wood Band
The rule is, there are no rules. CWB will surprise and delight!
If you haven’t heard it yet, check out our first release Over The Hill. You’ll find it on CDBaby and Bandcamp, as well as streaming on Spotify, iTunes, Pandora, etc.
Check out CWB’s April, 2020, release with their take on getting through the coronavirus episode. Also giving the nod to so many front line workers who are taking big risks to get us the things we need.
House band Chopped Wood can’t seem to settle in on any particular style of music. Problem is, it’s always a different group of musicians and the outcome is never quite known until the final mix.
CWB are just having some fun. We don’t really care what we’re playing, as long as what’s in the moment is where we’re collectively located. If that makes any sense…
Their first EP, Over The Hill, was inspired by a poem written by Will Carleton. Over The Hill To The Poorhouse struck a chord with CWB’s Captain Mike. A personal connection was revealed and, after tapping into a stream of musical consciousness, Mike was there to put the whole thing down on his guitar.
It’s been a while, but new things are in the works. Recently retired and devoting much more time to his musical endeavors, Mike has gathered-up some friends to help get another collection of tunes assembled for your listening pleasure.
NEWS! Chopped Wood Band has released their single Endless Roads. Consider it something to help hold you over until they finish their upcoming EP.
“Without music to decorate it, time is just a bunch of boring production deadlines or dates by which bills must be paid.”
— Frank Zappa
